POETRY
Poetry. My first love. I have written poetry since I was very small. Only some of it remains, as much has been lost in our travels. Read some of what I have. More will be added.
Scamp
By Angelique Conger
Some kids have birds,
Others have cats,
Mine have turtles,
Crabs and rats.
Scamp was mine
A big, fluffy, furry dog
Who went where I went
She was my big friend.
She was mine at three
A puppy and a little girl
We grew together
Always together.
Mom knew where I was
Even in the car asleep
For there sat Scamp
Waiting for me.
No other like my Scamp,
She protected us,
Chased skunks, killed rats,
And was always there, Waiting.
I still miss my Scamp.
I wonder even now
Is she still there
Waiting for me?
